    Abstract: 朔自一九五九年百噸(Arch Patton)首創產品生命週期以來，企業界對產品生命週期之涵義，一直非常重視。本文特就產品生命週期理論之演進以及從此理論所衍生之管理架構之形成，作詳盡之探討，尋出一較完整而具有系統之產品生命週期管理涵義。本文所強調者乃為產品生命週期各階段之管理策略性涵義與「例外管理」觀念在產品生命週期之應用。作者認為企業存在之主要原因既為提供貨品與勞務，而管理作業似一直環繞在產品之週期，管理作業或將邁進產品生命週期管理導向之新紀元。
