Abstract:	『心經』和西遊故事傳統的關係雖極其密切，但歷來評家並未給予應有的注意。本文係就「慈恩傳」等五種資料去探討『心經』和西遊故事間的關係。『心經』在西遊故事傳統中所以重要，乃因它深具驅魔逐鬼的功效。它在史實上曾助成玄奘取經的壯舉，也在爾後跟西遊故事有關的一些文學作品中，如『唐梵序』等，佔有相當重要的地位。『唐梵序』等文學作品中的描述，不管是授經的時地，或是授經者的身份和動機，都跟「慈恩傳」中的甚不相同。不過，文學作品的成就在於結構是否嚴謹、主題是否鮮明，而不在於內容是否契合史實。「西遊記」中的『心經』總共出現了八次。首次出現造成了取經過程中由緊張而頓挫的階段，並為該書主題提供了明確的線索；其餘各次也多與全書的架構和主題密切關連。
