Abstract:	《原道》為《文心雕龍》首篇，向為學者們所重視，但是《原道》的思想淵源以及「道」的涵義，在學者間卻有許多不同的看法，本文吸收前人的成果，將《原道》之思想淵源與文藝美學聯繫起來探討，指出下列幾點：一、《原道》以《周易》的天人哲學為基礎融和漢儒的宇宙觀與老莊的「自然」思想，藉漢人的宇宙觀證明「道」亦有「文」，為「尚文」的作風辯護；又藉老莊的自然本體論，證明有美質者必有美文，為「重質」的傳統思想辯護。二、《原道》之「道」為構造天地萬物的「原理」，而此「原理」具有儒家政治倫理性格。三、文原於道的觀念是基於兩漢以來流行的「天人感應」哲學。四、《原道》重視天地萬物之文彩，與六朝文學重視自然景物（物色）有關。五、劉勰的文藝美學，一言　以蔽之，即文質統一，但文質統一是指美質與美文的統一，就文章言，即是合乎儒家倫理的「情性」與美麗「辭采」的統一。文藝創作活動即是「情」與「辭」（狹義之「文」）的結合。六、文質統一的最高境界是「文」與「道」統一，《原道》的中心思想就是文不離道，道亦不離文，文道統一的典範就是聖人製作的經典，故《原道》的企圖是要奠定儒家的權威。
