Abstract:	本文應用生命周期人力資本理論，探討臺灣地區男女工資差異的問題。假設一個人的預期終生期勞動參與意願、人力投資和工資收入三者之間存在密切的關係，從理論上我們證明了，一個追求終生所得總額折現值最大化的個人，其人力資本投資完全取決於他的預期終生期工作參與態度。此理論模型用於解釋男女工資差異時，顯示女性之年齡－－所得輪廓曲線之所以較男性平坦且又偏低，主要係因為她們的人力資本投資較少且較偏離市場導向。實證上，我們將生命周期勞動參與率導入人力投資決策模型中，進一步估計「預期人力資本存量」變數。然後再將這些估計量併入聚集男女性資料的工資方程式中，以確定所看到的男女工資差異能被預期人力資本存量變數解釋的程度。我們發現在臺灣地區，絕大部分的男女工資差異可以估計的預期人力資本存量來解釋。實證結果亦顯示，終生期勞動參與型態因性別而異，透過對人力投資之影響，決定了男女工資差異之幅度。
