Abstract:	廿世紀的存在主義大師，如沙特、卡繆、卡夫卡等人給讀者一種悲觀的印象，好似存在基本上是荒謬的東西，生活便是無奈。同期的馬塞爾卻揭開了存在的另一面。他從表面的滄桑把讀者引入存有的核心，從存有的深度來理解人性，並詮釋人性。結果，馬氏發現人心儲有大量的希望潛能，而絕望卻是開發這類潛能的契機。馬賽爾在四十歲時皈依了天主教。這種有神信仰是否是他希望哲學的來源呢？還是人性本身便是如此的？本文一面嘗試說明馬氏形上希望的真諦，同時討論其思想之普遍適用性，這也是說，有宗教背景的形上思想是否尚能列入哲學的行列，成為眾生的明燈？
