Abstract:	方孝孺的政治思想以人性本善，人人皆可成聖成賢，歷史退化、今不如古，成敗由人、與天無關等為理論基礎。其論政權的正當性，以為以正當的身份與正當的手段取得，並以畏天命愛人民的態度，依仁義道德的原則，採教民養民的措施維持之者，其政權為正當。其論治道，大體依儒家精神，主立誠、知體稽古審時、德教與政刑並行、德教優於政刑、枉不可過正、均分序和、人治與法治兼顧、立法勿違民性。論治術亦與儒家無異，主治心、眾賢、育才、致士、善用人、正服等。其論君臣，以為君乃為民而立，應善盡職責；常躬自省察，作為模範；並有大量，能容天下；不自恃，勿驕傲，善御臣。以為臣當以義守職，以忠事君；明諫君之道，有一定分寸，採適當方式；明死君之道，防患未然，以不死為尚。至於宰相之職，則在求國之治，民之福。大臣之行，則以道事君，不可則止。其論族鄉井田，於族主定族法，依血緣相結合；於鄉定鄉法，依地域相結合。均在倡育倡樂，教忠教孝，維持秩序，敦厚風俗。於井田，則力主恢復。
