    Abstract: 德與力是中國傳統政治思想的中心課題,歷代政治思想家討論者極多。本文按時間先後,依序分析先秦諸子、秦漢學者與魏晉以來學者對德與力的見解。綜觀歷代思想家或學者對德與力的見解,約可分為五類,其一為重德輕力,幾乎否定力。其二為重德輕力,然不否定力。其三為德與力並重。其四為重力輕德,而不否定德。其五為重力輕德,而否定德。合計之,以重德的人多,重力的人少;重德的分量遠超過重力的分量。完全重視德,根本否定力,最為理想,然事實上為不可行。其可行並能兼顧理想者,當為重德輕力,而不否定力,至少先德而後力。以此衡之,先秦儒家的主張最為可取。
