Abstract:	德與力是中國傳統政治思想的中心課題，歷代政治思想家討論者極多。本文按時間先後，依序分析先秦諸子、秦漢學者與魏晉以來學者對德與力的見解。綜觀歷代思想家或學者對德與力的見解，約可分為五類，其一為重德輕力，幾乎否定力。其二為重德輕力，然不否定力。其三為德與力並重。其四為重力輕德，而不否定德。其五為重力輕德，而否定德。合計之，以重德的人多，重力的人少；重德的分量遠超過重力的分量。完全重視德，根本否定力，最為理想，然事實上為不可行。其可行並能兼顧理想者，當為重德輕力，而不否定力，至少先德而後力。以此衡之，先秦儒家的主張最為可取。
