    Title: 英語系大一新生背景與大一英語聽力測驗之關係研究

    Abstract: 本研究以問卷調查方式來瞭解政大英語系一年級新生入大學前的英文聽講訓練及其個人基本資料等背景，並研究其與新生聽力測驗成績的相關性。另外並研究聽力測驗及聯考成績間的相關性。研究結果發現學生中學時期，尤其是國中時期，之英文聽講訓練不足。聽力測驗成績高低（分高分、中分、低分組）與英文聽講訓練經交叉分析，達顯著差異者有三項。聽力測驗及聯考成績間的相關性很高。聽力測驗成績與個人基本資料相關者包括性別，家庭、學校所在地，學生本人對英文的重視程度等。此外，學生普遍認為聽、說、讀、寫四種能力中，聽、說能力最須加強。學生對自己的程度也有相當的瞭解。同時學生選擇英語系就讀的動機及其將來想從事的行業也各異。論文最後，筆者提出（一）聽、說、讀、寫並重，（二）多用英文上課及鼓勵課外學習，（三）瞭解學生程度，（四）教學時應該「教」聽力非「考」聽力，訓練「理解力」非「記憶力」，（五）設置相關自學設備：資源教室，（六）建立公平的成績評量制度：「努力分數」等六點建議。
