    Title: 第二次中日戰爭期間日本發展生物化學戰重要人物之研究

    Abstract: 就日本在第二次中日戰爭期間發展生化戰的歷程而論，有四位人物扮演極為重要的角色：小泉親彥(1884～1945)、永田鐵山(1884～1935)、石井四郎(1892～1959)以及北野政次(1894～1986)。小泉親彥是日本生化戰部隊的奠基者，他在一九一四年發表「有關工業『苦味酸』(Picric Acid)的中毒」一文，不但奠定他的學術地位，也因此被公認為日本毒氣研究的始祖。小泉在日後擔任陸軍軍醫學校校長期間，更大力支持細菌戰的發展；此外，他還推動厚生省的設置，對加強日本整體國力產生積極的作用。永田鐵山基於個人對戰略的構想，非常支持細菌戰這項可以擴大作戰資源的武器。因此，他對石井四郎而言不僅是最重要的支持者；若就從日本發展生化戰的歷程來看，永田更是相當重要的人物。石井四耶則是日本發展生化戰的實際領航者。他不斷地遊說日本軍部的長官，鼓吹細菌戰的重要性與意義，積極地促成這種慘無人道的作戰方式的實現。在他的主持之下，惡名昭彰的「石井部隊」成為日本侵略戰爭的一環。至於北野政次則以滿洲醫科大學微生物主任教授的身份，接掌細菌戰的作戰事宜，更延續開展以活人為實驗對象的不人道行為。本篇論文，從這些人物的生平與行徑，分析日本從事生化戰的歷史脈絡、運作狀況以及其對發展生化戰的基本觀點。因為生化戰的推動並不是戰爭史上偶然發展的自然過程，而完全是人為且配合政策而設計推動後的結果。盼藉此對近代高科技戰爭所隱藏的殘酷和黑闇面，有更深一層的認識及警惕。
