Abstract:	政治學經過了一百多年的發展，二十一世紀究竟會有什麼變化？政治學者在跨世紀時正在思考建立政治學的學科歷史。本文以為這種趨勢一方面是為建立起一個專門且獨立的學科所共有的價值與認同之外，另一方面也有意為政治科學及學者所肩負的責任，找出合法性或正當性基礎。其次，一門獨立的學科必有其典範，但典範卻經常在改變。跨世紀的政治學既有的典範為何，是否正在位移？本文認為，政治學典範的整理，不僅要從學科歷史中去整理，也需要從方法上去檢驗。政治學的發展和每個國家的政權性質有關。例如在民主國家，政治學的發展猶如該國的民主化歷史。因此，政治學與政權的關係為何？是跨世紀政治學發展的另一個思考趨勢。二十一世紀政治學的新趨勢，對台灣政治學界有何影響？我們必須思考台灣政治學的主體性、歷史性、政治性與現實性，才能為二十一世紀台灣政治科學的發展找出方向。
