Title:	死亡率變遷對於人口成長的慣性效應

Abstract:	現在，多數國家已經完成人口轉型，未來的人口成長，主要取決於人口慣性。過往，人口轉型過程雖然也同時出現死亡率下降，死亡率對於人口成長的貢獻與重要性，卻是沒有受到重視。然而，長期進入低生育率的社會，死亡率的持續改善，將是未來人口慣性的主要來源。本文運用穩定人口理論，透過標準的人口分解程序，比較生育率與死亡率變遷對於人口慣性的效應。1971年時，台灣經歷20年的高水準生育率之後，開始快速轉變，此時，生育率與死亡率變遷對於人口慣性的效應幾乎相等，各為51％及49％。到了2001年，生育率長期遠低於替代水準，死亡率的改善則是提高女性出生時平均餘命達到80歲，即便如此，生育率與死亡率對於人口慣性的效應仍是旗鼓相當，各為48％與52％。然而，到了2008年以後，過往高出生數所產生的人口紅利，對於人口持續成長的效應幾乎完全消退，因此開始出現負向的人口慣性，換言之，人口衰減已經是不可避免的宿命－未來人口成長的絲微希望，完全落在死亡率改善所帶來的人口慣性效應。
