Abstract:	近年來，隨著網際網路的普及，加上 WWW 多媒體介面的風行，網路頻寬的需求成長遠遠超過實際頻寬的擴充，這種現象的持續發生，後果就是帶來無止境的等等等，也有人稱之為所謂的 World Wide Wait。根據台灣學術網路骨幹頻寬使用狀況分析的結果[1][2]，大約 60% - 70% 的流量，都是 WWW 應用的傳輸，為了有效抒解頻寬壅塞狀況，台灣學術網路技術小組於 1998 年決議將既有之骨幹頻寬分割，劃出所謂的 WWW 專屬頻寬，只允許各大區網中心的WWW Proxy Cache Server 使用，希望能藉由 Cache的幫助，降低重複傳輸數量，促成頻寬再利用，進而提升頻寬整體有效使用率。經過一年多的 WWW Proxy Cache Server 建置經驗，我們發現了許多問題，亦提出相對應之解決方法，藉由本篇文章在此與大家分享。
