Title:	無磁碟微電腦區域網路教室多重作業系統環境之建置與管理

Abstract:	由於計算機網路技術的興起與日漸普及，各大專院校電算中心因校園網路的建立，單機型態PC教室皆已改變為 PC/LAN的管理方式，透過file server的建置，以達到架設網路的預期功能，例如：軟硬體資源共享、彈性擴充等。為了簡化系統管理，無磁碟機的PC已被大量採行，這種方式之系統支援將在本文敘述。另一方面利用PC硬體設備建置UNIX工作站的PC/UNIX作業系統〔例如：FreeBSD、Linux、NetBSD等〕已漸趨成熟，並在校園獲得教師及學生的注意及研究。如何讓PC教室亦能支援PC/UNNIX且與DOS共同使用，是本文之重點。本文嘗試透過結合Novell NetWare區域網路作業系統之remote boot開機功能，以及FreeBSD所支援的diskless開機功能，提供使用者雙重作業系統環境的選擇〔PC/NetWare或PC/UNIX)，如此一來不僅diskless PC硬體資源得到更充分的利用，進一步亦可提供UNIX作業系統的教學環境;並且建立了UNIX作業系統以類似FileServer的方式來管理工作站群。這種電腦教學環境的建置與管理的經驗，應可提供各校電算中心人員參考。
