    Title: 武俠小說讀者心理需要之研究

    Abstract: 武俠小說在中國歷史由來已久，而武俠小說的演變與產生，是基於一般人心理的需要，尤其是在社會混亂、法紀蕩然的時代，舊式武俠小說越易流行，而近代的武俠小說從清末之今，已風行一百多年而不衰，武俠小說究竟滿足讀者心理何種需求，是本研究的目的。

    本研究首先假設閱讀武俠小說可滿足讀者的心理需求包含：(1)尋求娛樂；(2)認同；(3)對傳統價值的肯定；(4)發洩情緒；(5)逃避現實；(6)補償心理，共六項假設。經過目的抽樣與問卷調查後的分析，本研究結果勾勒出了武俠小說讀者的特色（包含性別、年齡、最常閱讀的作家等），而在假設驗證上，除了第二項「認同」未能完全成立，其他五點的分析結果大致上都符合原先的假設。

    在從事本文研究前，尚無發現他人做過類似研究，故雖遭遇許多困難，但也可說此研究是做了先鋒工作，嘗試用目前的方法針對武俠小說的讀者做研究，因為本文認為武俠小說除了文學理由外，應還有社會、人性、文化等背景，才能使其流行這麼久，也有其值得研究之處。
