    Abstract: 本研究之目的在於探討犯罪在社會經濟發展過程中的改變趨勢。研究資料包括五十三至六十九年社會發展指標及刑案的統計。經由迴歸分析以觀察社會經濟發展與犯罪的關係，再透過犯罪組成分析以瞭解犯罪特徵。研究結果顯示，台灣的社會經濟發展與犯罪成長有密切關係，而社會經濟發展的影響因各類犯罪的性質而異。犯罪在社會經濟發展中的變遷有下列特徵：(1)竊盜減少，而故意殺人、強盜搶奪、恐嚇勒贖及妨害風化等增加；(2)慣行犯減少而非慣行犯增加，絕大多數的犯罪是非慣行犯；(3)犯罪年齡趨向年輕，而男犯比女犯做案的年齡開始較早；(4)女犯有增加趨勢，以強盜搶奪、恐嚇勒贖、妨害風化及煙毒等較多；(5)農漁牧工作者、僱傭、公務員、及無固定職業者等犯罪減少，而工礦、交通運輸、商、金融及自由業等犯罪增加；(6)在校學生犯罪增加，而教育程度高者犯罪有增加趨勢，特別是國中及高中程度者。
