Abstract:	世界局勢在後冷戰時期的發展動態如何，已引起相當廣泛的討論。雖然論者觀點不同，但經濟全球化、經濟保護主義和經濟聯盟〈區域經濟合作〉則是同時並存的現象及趨勢。本文針對區域經濟合作這個議題，首先從國家的角度探討國際合作理論中相關概念、條件及論述，包括無政府狀態、絕對得利與相對得利、霸權〈領導地位〉、體制〈形態〉等。其次，從歷史的觀點對照分析合作理論的預期條件和亞太地區經濟合作的實際狀況，所討論的區域協定則包括亞太經濟合作會議〈APEC〉、東協自己貿易區〈AFTA〉、以及北美自由貿易協定〈NAFTA〉。最後，本文雖然結論為理論與實際有差距，但也認為西方合作理論和亞太區域經濟未來走向仍各有發展空間，可作為未來相輔相成的基礎。
