本文主要探討網際網路上圖書館所提供的讀者服務。首先將分析英、美兩國的十四所圖書館在網頁上所提供的讀者服務項目。其次,就我國九所圖書館的網路首頁連線,以了解其所提供之服務項目。這九所圖書館涵蓋一所國家圖書館、六所大學圖書館與二所公共圖書館。在了解國內外圖書館在網路所提的服務之後,接著探討圖書館所提供的服務是否符合讀者的需求,從三方面探討:硬體方面、軟體方面、讀者使用習慣。最後,提出電子圖書館讀者服務的發展趨勢。 This paper mainly describes the public services provided by libraries in the Internet. Firstly, the public services provided by 14 libraries of the United Kingdom and the United States in the Internet are analyzed. Secondly, the home pages provided by Taiwan`s libraries (1 national library, 6 university libraries, and 2 public libraries) are analyzed. In order to realize the public services whether meet to the user needs, three elements are considered, i.e. hardwares, softwares, and the habits of users. Finally, the future prospects of the public services are described.
