Abstract:	圖書館目錄為圖書館查尋、聚集其館藏圖書資料，並指示確切館藏位置；其功能在為圖書館整理並組織館藏圖書資料，提供讀者便捷使用。而編目規則為建構圖書館目錄之依據。本文目的在概述英美編目規則之歷史發展，編目之一般原則，以及1997年英美編目規則之原則與未來發展國際會議之討論與建議。本文並探討英美編目規則之重要議題，以及未來英美編目規則原則與條文的修改方向及程序。 The function of a library catalog is to find, collocate and locate library materials. The organization and arrangement of a library catalog is based on the cataloging rules. This paper is to state the brief history of library cataloging codes, the principles of library cataloging rules, and the International Conference on Principles and Future Development of AACR in 1997. Also discussed are the important issues regarding the revision and future development of Anglo-American Cataloging Rules.
