    Abstract: 近年來,核心能力已成為企業的主流思想。圖書館在人力資源管理、營運發展和教育訓練時,基本上也是能力導向的,然而卻未能以核心能力的觀念來建構圖書資訊專業的產業優勢和各類各別圖書館的競爭優勢。因此,本文分別針對核心能力之定義、能力之類型與核心能力之建構,詳加介紹,並整理國內外普遍性的能力和圖書資訊人才所需具備的能力,以供產學各界參考,冀期發揮拋磚引玉之效。
    Core competence is a managerial concept used to analyze and develop key elements of business strategy. This article outlines the concept and applies it to information profession to achieve service excellence. A description and review of the concepts of competencies and core competencies are included and frameworks for their development and use are given.
