Abstract:	宋明以來,儒家中道哲學的論述集中在孟學一路,並且成了孟學派儒家道統說的主幹.跳出孟學論述理路,以作者所謂荀子哲學的普遍形式為准,來討論儒家荀學派中道哲學的成立與早期發展——就著它在先秦時期的出現和成立(孔子、荀子與《中庸》),說明它的理論形態與正當性;就著它早期的發展(兩漢時期董仲舒、揚雄、《中論》與《人物志》),說明它的歷史存在與創造活力.認為,儒家荀學派中道哲學的成果與重要性絕不在孟學派中道哲學之下,今天我們討論儒家道統問題絕對不能忽略它.
