Title:	한국어 의외성 표지 ‘-다니’에 대한 연구

Abstract:	The purpose of this study is to prove that the Korean fused final ending of quotations -tani is the mirative marker in Korean from the perspective of mirativity. First of all, the concept and the definition of mirativity are introduced and the category of mirativity is explored. The value of mirativity includes not only new information but also other values such as surprise. The range of mirativity is considered to be a prototype composed of many semantic features. The study analyzes the mirative features of –tani from 5 aspects. First, underspecified evidential is applied. Second, in terms of the co-occurrence of evidential markers, -tani can co-occur with direct evidential markers but it cannot co-occur with inferential evidential markers. Third, through the test of adverbials and discourse markers, it is observed that –tani is close to mirative prototypes or typical examples. Fourth, the usage of rhetorical questions of mirative markers is indicated. Fifth, the grammaticalization path of mirative markers and reported evidential makers is discussed.
