    Abstract: 一口に日本研究と言っても、研究が行わる地域によって問題関心も研究対象も用いられる手法も異なる。戦後75年を経て、アメリカにはアメリカの、ヨーロッパにはヨーロッパの、アジアにはアジアの「日本研究」があり、それぞれが独自のヒストリオグラフィーを持っている。もちろん、日本もそうだ。そして、日本の例を見れば明らかなように、それぞれのヒストリオグラフィーが独立して発展し、相互に参照されるのは翻訳されたごく一部に限られていた。その意味において、2018年は日本研究の画期となった。明治150年の節目の年に、日本のみならずアメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アジアをはじめ、多くの地域で明治維新や日本の近代化をテーマにした国際会議が行われた。多様なヒストリオグラフィーが本格的に相互参照をはじめ、新たな可能性が生まれはじめている。そうした動きを推し進めていくためには相互交流を促進するための基盤整備を着実に継続していく必要がある。
    即使同為日本研究，因進行研究的所在區域差異，對問題意識的關注、研究主題和對象，以及所運用的方法也會有所不同。自第二次世界大戰結束後歷經75年，美國有美國的、歐洲有歐洲的、亞洲有亞洲的「日本研究」，皆擁有和發展出各自的史學觀。當然，日本也不例外。然而，從日本的例子可明顯看出，上述每個皆各自獨立發展，相互參考引用的僅限於被翻譯的一小部分。從這樣的意義上來看，2018年可謂「日本研究」的劃時代年份。在明治維新150年後此一具有里程碑意義的年份，不僅在日本，還在美國、歐洲、亞洲等眾多地方皆舉行了以明治維新和日本近代化為主題的國際會議。隨著多樣的史學觀開始正式確實地相互參照，新的可能性便出現開端。為此，有必要穩定地繼續發展促進相互交流的基礎平台作業。
    Even Japanese Studies, depending on the region where research is conducted, differs in terms of problem, research subject and methods utilized. In the seventy-five years since the end of the Asia-Pacific War, the United States, Europe and Asia each developed their own `Japanese studies` with their own unique historiographies. Of course, Japan is no different. However as is clear from Japan`s example, each of them developed independently, and cross referencing was limited to the small parts which had been translated. In this sense 2018 was a moment of transition in Japanese Studies. In the year of the 150th anniversary of Meiji, international conferences were held not only in Japan but also in the United States and throughout Europe, Asia and many other regions on the theme of the Meiji restoration and Japanese modernization. New possibilities are beginning to emerge as a diverse historiography begins to cross references in earnest. To this end, further infrastructure development is essential.
