    Abstract: 自Duncan (1956)提出□管制圖的經濟設計 (Economic Design of X Control Charts)以來,已陸續有許多學者提出各種經濟管制圖之研究。近年來,隨著消費者對產品需求的多元化,採用多等級製程的生產方式已成為廠商製造產品的一種策略。本研究乃擴展Banerjee and Rahim (1987) 的更新理論 (Renewal Theory) 方法以建立追蹤生產二個等級產品之製程 成本模式,並透過最佳化的技巧得到二個EWMA經濟管制圖之最佳設計參數。文末舉例說明二個EWMA經濟管制圖的建立與應用,若業者希望以最他成本來維持生產二個等級產品之製程,則可依本文所提出的方法建立經濟EWMA管制圖。本文所提出之二個等級產品製程管制之方法仍可擴展為多等級產品之製程管制。
    The optimal design of control chart by minimizing the net sum of all quality cost involved was first proposed by Duncan (1956). Since then variations of Dun­can`s approach have appeared. Recently, the focus has been accompanied with the consideration of the production strategy that manufactures multiple product grades from one single production line to meet diverse demands of customers. In this paper、we adopt renewal theory approach to develop a process cost model with two different product grades, and use optimization technique to determine the optímal design parameters of the two economic EWMA control charts. The approach can be extended to monitor the process with multiple product grades. The construction and application of the proposed EWM A control charts are illustrated through an example.
