    Abstract: 知識密集產業是二十一世紀最重要的產業，以人為腦力取代有形的物質資源，如煤、鐵、石油等，成為最重要的生產因素。近十年來自不同訓練的國外學者專家正廣泛進行知識管理的各種探索及定義，企圖對以知識為基礎之經濟尋求新的管理方法。國內也有不少學者從事此研究，但針對知識密集工作者日常如何管理知識，創造知識，及對知識資源、產品、資產的操作性定義與衡量均付闕如。無論是將知識管理定義為學習、智慧資本、知識資產、情報、學習型組織、見識或才智，其結論都是一樣的：如何將它管理得更好，否則它會妨礙組織的發展。知識運動正動搖著我們所熟悉的組織，做生意的方法，及經濟及社會開發的方式，然而在我們現存的經濟體系中，如果無法被衡量，就不被視為有價值。我們亟需加強對以「人為腦力」為生產要素的知識產業進行研究，了解其生產之特性及其附加價值的衡量等基礎工作，才能有效經營管理下個世紀的產業與經濟，而不致偏頗與誤導各種資源的運用。本研究擬針對知識密集工作者，如律師、會計師、教授、研究人員、出版業，企圖透過其工作的內容及產出來探討及了解知識工作者在萃取，開發創造，製造生產，配銷傳播，及保護維持知識資源與產出上，和傳統產業有形產品的產銷有何不同？在探索的過程中試圖找尋更精確的語言來描繪知識管理，並找出價值認定的衡量方式，包括對知識的移動，組織知識資本的衡量等進行研究。
