Introduction: 民國五十八年設立本系，發展目標一方面鼓勵學生於純數學之研究外，更進一步向應用數學方面努力，並儘量與本校法、商學院各有關科系配合，希冀於作業研究、電腦科學、精算工作及數理經濟上培育人材。而後由於電子計算機的迅速發展，以及工商界對應用數學人才的需求甚殷，本系於民國六十三年，正式改名為應用數學系。為提高教學之品質與研究水準，於民國七十六年成立碩士班、民國八十八年成立博士班。應用數學系
