    摘要: 石油議題一向是國內外十分關注的問題之一，石油價格的高漲及能源短缺的威脅，也引起媒體的廣泛報導。本研究嘗試以內容分析法探討有關美國及台灣兩地的四個平面媒介（包含兩份財經專業報紙及兩份綜合報紙）從2005年8月到2005年12月期間有關於石油價格、替代能源、石油危機相關新聞的報導率；並從地區及媒介屬性的角度探討媒介如何建構及框架石油議題。研究結果發現石油新聞的報導與油價呈正面相關。石油新聞多以市場分析呈現，而媒體也偏向解釋短期因素所引起的石油問題。另外，本研究也發現報紙的屬性較地區更反映出媒體報導的差別。
    Problems about petroleum have always been a hot topic on the global stage, high petroleum prices and the risk of energy shortage is widely reported by the media. A cross-national comparative study using content analysis was conducted between August to December of 2005 to examine news coverage on petroleum from 4 newspapers in United States and Taiwan (include 2 general and 2 financial newspapers). Result shows that reporting is positively related to the actual oil price. Petroleum news is usually found in stock analysis, and media tend to focus on short-term petroleum problems. Results about current economic descriptions and economic expectation are inconsistent with past researches. In general, this research found that newspaper genre has greater influence on news content than region.
