    Abstract: Bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Ukraine has developed since 1992. Up to the present, Taiwan does not have diplomatic relations with Ukraine. According to official statistics from Taiwan, bilateral trade between Taiwan and Ukraine was valued about US$300 million in 2005. Taiwan’s exports to Ukraine are mainly machinery, textiles, consumer electronic products and consumer products. Major imports from Ukraine include aluminium, iron, steel, zinc and cotton. From the point of view of trade structure, trade between Taiwan and Ukraine are complements each of the other.This article briefly reviews official and unofficial contacts between Taiwan and Ukraine. It also describes the current status of the bilateral economic, technological, and educational cooperation. The authors found that China is the main factor influencing the relationship between Taiwan and Ukraine. China was the first state to recognize Ukraine as an independent state. Besides Ukraine stands firm on one-China policy since built diplomatic relation with China.
