Abstract:	中華民國在建國之初，在東南亞國家中，除了暹羅外，都還是殖民地。中華民國作為一個新興共和國，亦未能與暹羅建交。而中國因為與英國、美國、法國和荷蘭有邦交，所以在這些國家的東南亞殖民地建立領事館，開展保僑和商務關係的工作。戰後中華民國與菲律賓、泰國、寮國和南越有外交關係，與馬來西亞有領事關係，自1960年代初葉後，相繼與這些國家斷交，改以經貿維持實質關係。<br>本書分別論述了中華民國與東南亞十個國家的雙邊的外交關係之演變，重點包括從清末設領、民國肇建後的設領交涉和華僑保護、戰時的合作關係、戰後的建交交涉以及護僑交涉、斷交和實質關係的發展等，一一鋪陳析論，目的在呈現雙邊外交關係的歷史發展。<br>
