Abstract:	宜蘭的地理位置與交通條件影響其歷史發展甚深，《宜蘭交通史》一書主要以漢人進入宜蘭地區之後的交通發展作為敘述內容，並依清代、日治時代、戰後以來三階段作為分期與章節的論述架構，探述各時代的各類交通發展，如清帝國統治時代宜蘭境內與聯外交通道路、津渡、橋樑、驛遞、河運、港澳等；日治時代的鐵道、公路、港口、機場建設、郵電事業等；戰後中華民國政府治台以來的鐵、公路建設、蘇澳港興建、運輸郵電事業等，充分呈現宜蘭特殊的地理、人文條件下的交通發展變遷史。本書善用地方相關史料，以流暢的筆法深入淺出描繪宜蘭地方交通的發展，是一具有高度學術價值的地方史專著。
