    Abstract: 本研究計畫的目標，在推展與延伸適合追蹤動態變遷過程之「事件史分析法」（event history analysis），將之與近年快速發展的多層次模型（multilevel models）結合，成為「多層次事件史分析法」，以便分析政治學中比較繁複但卻十分重要的事件類型（亦即可能會重複發生（recurrent）、並有多種延續與標的狀態（multistate）的事件），並將該模型應用至我國立法委員之政治生涯歷程（paths of political careers）的研究上。本計畫將針對方法與模型之研發、以及新模型之應用兩個方面來進行：一、 在方法與模型方面，本研究擬藉助近年快速發展之多層模型中專為類別依變數而發展之「多層推廣之線型模型」（hierarchical generalized linear models, HGLM）為架構，結合「事件史分析法」，將政治學研究常遭遇之情況納入考量，建立嚴謹之multilevel event history with multi-episode competing risks model。二、 在政治學議題之應用方面，將「多層次事件史分析法」應用於台灣自從1992年至2004年選出之立委的政治生涯歷程，瞭解台灣民主化與民主鞏固最關鍵的十餘年其國會菁英之政治生涯，並分析其演變軌跡（trajectory）之個人企圖心因素及制度提供之機會因素，以及兩者之互動關係。
