    Abstract: 本研究計畫主要從「可持續發展」面向展開相關研究課題，並以台北、上海、香港三個華人為主的城市作為分析的單元，期望在全球城市研究典範之外，突出全球化與在地化的界面，並找出新的行為者（actors），描繪出更完整的全球化城市的圖像。本研究將研究的客體放在以華人市民為主的三個主要城市：台北、上海、香港。這三個城市相同之處不少，但由於歷史軌跡的不同，其差異度更是明顯，但這三個城市都在全力追求「全球城市」的身份與地位。與此同時，三個城市在永續發展及環境保護的記錄上均有其改善的空間，而邁向「全球永續城市」的路徑上，國家與社會關係的進一步調整將是可預期到的趨勢。然而如何在同中有異的主客觀環境中，各自走出結合全球化與在地化的平衡道路，值得仔細審視與分析。因此，若從國家、制度、利益，及文化四個分析面向來審視這三個華人城市永續發展的軌跡，可以更清晰的描繪出一個對比與互補的圖像，以超越「全球城市」的論述，更細緻的分析國家與社會的關係。本研究將以質化研究方法為主，以三年為期，計畫實地訪談台北、上海、香港三地，以取得第一手的研究資料。
