    Abstract: 在1999 年至2003 年期間，雖然台灣期貨市場需求大幅成長，然廠商家數卻不增反減，其背後可能原因有二：一是台灣期貨商的成本函數可能具有規模或多樣化經濟特性，於是，隨著時間的經過，廠商家數遂逐漸遞減；二是各期貨商的經營管理效率具有顯著的差異，導致不具效率之廠商會被併購或淘汰。因此，本計畫乃企圖利用 1999-2003 年台灣期貨商之財務暨營運普查資料，透過反覆近似無關迴歸法、資料包絡分析法與Tobit 截斷迴歸法，探討：（一）台灣期貨業是否具有規模經濟特性？（二）台灣期貨業是否具有多樣化經濟特性？（三）個別期貨商的經營效率應如何客觀地評估？（四）影響期貨商經營效率差異的因素有哪些？最後，再根據實證結果，對期貨商業者與政府主管單位提出營運管理的策略性與政策性建議。
