Stem volume of a forest stand is an important characteristic for forest resource inventory, which is essential for forest resources management. LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is characterized by its capability in collecting data with very high accuracy and high density. This study use terrestrial LIDAR to acquire large amount of 3-D coordinates of points data about trees. The lidar data are used to reconstruct 3-D model of trees, and to derive important parameters of trees such as heights, and diameters at breast height. The main objective is to develop a methodology for estimation of tree volume using nondestructive approach, furthermore, the stand volume can be estimated
