Web 2.0 has received a lot of attention recently, since many new business models have proliferated from this concept. This study will apply profiling monitoring to study the users’ online usage that are the Google Analytics data retrieved from seven Web 2.0 services based in Taiwan including Atlaspost, Babyhome, Funp, Ipeen, Meeya, Phsee, and Tad.org, and the data recorded from a revolutionary device developed for U2.0EX project. In the phase I of profile monitoring, we will evaluate the stability of the services and to estimate the parameters representing important measures of the Web service performance. In phase II analysis the objective is to detect shifts quickly in the process from the in-control parameter values estimated in phase I. These shifts represent the management issues that could either strength or weaken the performance of the Web services as well as the device for U2.0EX. By constant survey and interviews, we will identify the characteristics of the events causing the shifts. A hierarchical algorithm for group numbers and K-mean for group members will be used for cluster analysis. The corresponding management implications will be derived accordingly. The objectives of this research include the following - Become the first study applying profile monitoring technique on Web services to analyze online users’ behavior. - Identify the key parameters representing the performance of Web services by analyzing Google Analytics data from varied Web 2.0 services. - Provide substantial evidence and feasible guidelines to SNS for operating their web services more effectively. - Integrating quantitative and qualitative methods on service issues to solve a real world problem. - Provide the analysis for the revolutionary product, device for U2.0EX, and the methodology along the results can be extended to similar devices for different purposes such as health care, tourism, or guiding device in theme park.
