    Title: 展望二十一世紀公共圖書館

    Abstract: 本文係探討二十一世紀公共圖書館發展之前景。首先展望二十一世紀社會的面貌，將是五化的社會，即：資訊數位化、資訊傳播快速化與多元化、網路普及化、人口老年化與需求特殊化。針對此五化，提出二十一世紀公共圖書館將具備六種中心的功能：一、資訊素養訓練中心；二、全球電子資訊中心；三、成人終身教育中心；四、社區資訊中心；五、長青人士資訊中心與六、特殊民眾資訊中心。為達成此六項功能，我國公共圖書館面對二十一世紀的準備工作將包括：一、電腦軟、硬體設備充實；二、公共圖書館員的準備工作；三、規劃未來服務項目；與四、建立地區性圖書館網路系統。
