    摘要: 中國、印度、緬甸這三個亞洲國家因擁有共同的邊界、悠久的歷史交往，伴隨日益增長的經濟與政治各領域的合作，中、印、緬關係漸趨密切聯繫在一起。
    緬甸位於亞洲兩個大國之間，擁有豐富的資源，對中、印兩國具有巨大的地緣政治與地緣戰略意義。自緬甸軍政府執政迄今，中國在緬甸優先開發了水力、礦產和基礎設施項目以滿足中國國內日益增長的能源需求；另一方面，印度至1993年提出「東向政策」，開始與緬甸軍政府合作，印度與緬甸兩國雙邊的戰略與經濟關係亦有穩定的發展。邁入21世紀，中國和印度之間的關係走向仍不明朗，一方面雙方經濟與戰略聯繫不斷增長；另一方面，中國與印度兩國又存在著競爭，而長期的邊界糾紛以及印度對中國「珍珠串」戰略的擔憂，已引起中、印雙方之間的日趨增長的猜疑與政治不睦，處在二大國間的緬甸，在中國、印度的重要性日趨上升。
    本論文以中、印各自對緬關係為出發點，從過去雙邊關係的發展軌跡為基礎，發掘緬甸在中、印間的戰略地位重要性，及邁入21世紀後，中緬、印緬在經貿及安全層面漸次擴大的競逐。藉由本論文之脈絡，研究主題可區分為三點，分別為(一)中國、印度先後積極尋求與緬甸關係的發展，有探究其因之必要，將於第二章重新檢視中、印各自與緬建交後，至21世紀初間之重要發展；(二)緬甸具備的優勢為何，讓中、印兩大強權在此的競逐公開化，近來更陸續吸引其他歐、美勢力爭相進入，本論文將於第三章討論緬甸除其戰略地位的重要性外，是否還有其他因素牽動大國間的競逐；(三)中、印與緬甸的競逐，在經貿、軍事層面上較為明顯，本論文將於第四章、第五章進一步瞭解中印雙方在緬甸的角逐結果。
