A Cross-Level Model Analysis of Antecedents of Teachers’ Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A New Structure of Analysis Abstract Purpose – The majority of research in organizational citizenship behavior has been conducted at the individual level of theory, measurement, and analysis. However, the field of organizational behavior may be viewed as broadly cross-level, incorporating individual and group-level impact on individual’s organizational citizenship behavior. This research had four objectives: to assess group-level antecedents– individualism/collectivism and power distance’s impact on OCB, to assess a individual-level antecedent– LMX’s impact on OCB and the mediating impact of job satisfaction, to test the moderating impact of power distance on LMX, and to assess the impact of cross-level antecedents on OCB. Design – The research selects junior high school teachers in different parts of Taiwan with stratified random sampling. Data will be collected on a structured questionnaire containing standard scales of collectivism/individualism, power distance, LMX, job satisfaction and citizenship behavior. After establishing the psychometric properties of the scales, 6 hypotheses will be tested through statistical analysis of the data. Proposed hypotheses will be tested using HLM, hierarchical multiple regression analysis and latent variable structured analysis. Originality/value – Brings into new group-level antecedents to complete OCB research and identifies how the cross-level model- individual and group-level antecedents work in hierarchy could better predict teachers’ organizational citizenship behavior.
