Abstract:	1980年代，受到知識經濟與全球化的衝擊，以及資訊科技的發展，世界各地的大學相互聯絡，形成一個網絡。在這個以市場競爭為基礎的網絡中，各大學競相進行合作辦學，進行策略聯盟，並且發展虛擬大學。沒有一個大學能夠自外於這個新起的國際化浪潮。自1980年代初進入這個浪潮迄今25年，中國大陸高等教育以驚人的速度走向國際化，從菁英大學開始，延伸至沿海的地方大學，吸引了國際的注意，也迫使台灣高等教育界對其發展予以高度的關注。中國大陸高等教育國際化有兩個特質。第一是國家政策主導，以菁英大學為主體，肩負著學術外交之任務。第二是帶有強烈的市場特質，其中以發展漢語教學成效最為顯著。本研究將以兩年的時間，從國家與市場之結合探討中國大陸高等教育國際化。
