    摘要: 政治學中與地理有關的概念甚多，諸如國際關係中之地緣政治、比較政治與選舉研究中之勢力範圍、派系地盤、票倉等，均可以「地理資訊系統」（geographic information system, GIS）為平台，一方面以區位推論（ecological inference）貫穿群體與個體層次的分析，另一方面結合質化之文化社群資料與量化之政經行為資料，進行更深入的脈絡化研究。本「政治地理學」圖書採購計畫的目的，不但是強化政大圖書館在政治地理學領域的藏書，更要提供給全國大專教師及研究人員在相關主題上最完整的圖書服務。本計畫將政治地理學圖書分成政治地理、地緣政治、地理資訊系統GIS、區位推論、空間分析方法等五類，分別蒐集圖書，除了Political Geography期刊部分國內無複本之過刊卷期外，主要均以近十餘年出版之相關英文圖書為主，複本率低於30%。
    Many concepts in political science are related to geography or geographical units. For example, geopolitics in international relations as well as factional and geographical voting bases in electoral studies of comparative politics are all area-based. The data of these concepts can best be collected and organized with geographic information system (GIS). They can then be analyzed with ecological inference methods so as to integrated macro- and micro-level analysis. GIS can also integrate qualitative and quantitative information to conduct deep contextual analysis. The purpose of this book purchasing project is to strengthen the library book archive of the National Chengchi University on the field of political geography so that teachers and researchers in Taiwan can take advantage of the rich collection. We divide the field of political geography into five subfields, including electoral geography, geopolitics, geographic information system, ecological inference, and spatial/temporal analysis of GIS data. Besides the journal of Political Geography, all the books on the purchase list are published in English in the most recent decade.
