    Abstract: 本文主要探討公共檔案館的設置,首先針對美國、加拿大、英國、澳洲、大陸等國公共檔案館的設置情況進行分析,並討論公共檔案館的管理模式。其次,對於目前我國縣史館的設置現況進行剖析,並規劃我國設置公共檔案館的相關事項進行討論。最後,針對臺灣成立公共檔案館提出3項建議。
    This paper mainly discusses the current status of public archives in _ve countries, i.e. United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and China. There are three management models of public archives are described. Secondly, the current situation of public archives establishment in Taiwan is discussed. Finally, three suggestions for establishing public archives in Taiwan are given.
