Abstract:	中國思想文化之特色，自來便以“人生”為其思考之重點。是以中西許多學者皆認為中國哲學亦以“人生哲學”為其思想表現之軸心。此一判斷，確可從中國哲學思想議題中得知。然而，亦有學者認為中國哲學思想的此種傾向，不可歸入人類的哲學史之發展系譜中ヾ，充其量中國哲學或儒學只是表現為一種格言式的說法而已。此種觀點，以今日來看，實有其偏狹之處，不值一駁。但是，這種理解所關注的角度，卻是作為今日學者有必要進一步予以“學理化”的方向。也就是說，以“人生”為課題的中國哲學思想，若要脫離“不證自明”的格言式訓導，那麼我們就必須讓這些古代的學說，形成一種“可建構”、“可分析”的知識對象。事實上，以“人生”為思考焦點的中國思想，在先秦時期的相關學說主張上，表現為一種對于“人”的理解。因此，探討“人”的理解，便成為我們建構古代中國思想“知識性”的重要工作。緣此之故，本文乃從古代中國儒學思想對于“人”的理解入手，希望透過先秦儒者在“心性”、“性情”等課題的檢討與思考，彰顯古代中國思想中“人”觀的一個側面。
