Abstract:	歷史學家Eric Hobsbawm 說：「歷史做為國族主義者、種族主義者或基本教義派會加以運用的一種原始材料，正如同罌粟乃是海洛因的原料一般」；1 一語道破歷史與政治的關係。根據彭明輝的研究，他以1945-2000年臺灣各大專院校歷史相關系所學位論文所做為統計分析對象，分為臺灣史、中國史與世界史三大範圍，發現臺灣史學位論文只佔了總量的15.9%，而中國史高達73%，世界史也只有11.1%；並且，臺灣史學位論文絕大多數是解嚴後才完成，解嚴之前臺灣史領域鮮少人敢去觸及，1990 年之後論文數量急速爆增。2 彭教授的統計分析說明臺灣史研究的重要現象，解嚴前，中國史是史學研究的正統，當時臺灣史研究乏人問津，顯然是受到政治因素的影響。
