    Description: 今（2010）年11月1日俄國總統梅德韋傑夫（Dmitry Medvedev）抵達俄國遠東地區南千島群島中的庫那施爾島（Kunashir，亦即日本稱之為「北方四島」中的國後島）進行視察。自蘇聯時期到現今俄羅斯梅氏係首位踏上與日本有領土爭議的國家元首。日本朝野對俄國領導人登島的舉動感到震驚，日本外相前原誠司對俄國領導人登島舉動提出抗議，並召回日本駐俄國大使河野雅治。但前原外相隨後宣稱日本駐俄大使係「暫時回國」，而非「召回」，並強調此舉不是報復性措施。前原外相同時表達希望在亞太經合會議（APEC）期間與俄國外長拉夫羅夫（Sergei Lavrov）會面，對日俄關係未來走向強調，解決日俄領土問題、締結和平條約、加強經濟合作的基本方向沒有改變。
