    摘要: 本文試圖對哈伯瑪斯和李歐塔間的爭論作正本清源的基源分析，藉以釐清「現代」與「後現代」間的爭論。在這種分析中，筆者首先說明哈伯瑪斯和李歐塔的不同立場，以及他們由此引申出來關於「現代」與「後現代」的不同主張。其次，筆者以羅蒂的調和與批判爲中介，交叉檢證哈伯瑪斯和李歐塔的觀點，藉以顯示這個爭論的意義。
    This paper attempts to clarify the dispute between "modern" and "postmodern" by way of a genetic analysis of the dispute between Habermas and Lyotard. In this analysis, I firstly expound the different views of both and accordingly their different claims of "modern" and "postmodern". Then, I cross-examine their positions through Rorty`s reconciliation and criticism to bring oat the meaning of this dispute.
