Title:	災難奇觀：九二一與五一二地震報導影像分析

Abstract:	本文聚焦 1999-2009 年間的 921 地震報導影像，分析九二一地震至今十年的災難報導影像，發現距離災難事件發生時間遠近，影響新聞論述主題產生變化，並且因為科技進步，災難報導的影像也越即時越真實，甚而新聞報導融入災難事件之中，成為災難奇觀的一部份。本文認為討論「災難奇觀」，首先必須要先從事件理論、媒體儀式與影像的本體論出發，去探究災難作為事件才可是奇觀，以及因為媒體報導，所以災難事件成為災難奇觀。時間在此也發揮作用，伴隨即時與歷時作用於影像，才成就災難之奇。最後，本研究提出因為災難事件化為符號，成為神話，所以進入歷史的永恆中被集體記憶。並依此提出災難奇觀的建構，需要經過災難、事件、媒體儀式、神話、歷史五個階段，最後以符號學與互文分析九二一地震影像，依據奇觀建構與時間元素，歸納出「即時真實 vs.片刻寫實」、「死亡與重生的拔河」與「九二一變奏曲」三個影像範疇。
