Title:	探詢數位時代中敘事與媒介之關係

Abstract:	本文先從「數位時代中人們說故事的方式、故事的面貌及讀者接收故事的過程改變了嗎？」此一提問開始，所關懷的是新媒介是否影響到說故事的活動？如何影響？有別於過去把媒介形式與內容分開研究的方式，我們試著從一敘事理論的角度談媒介特性，把說故事的意義與媒介所能承載的表意資源或限制一同納入考量。我們發現在敘事理論當中，也可以分成三種立場：分別是視敘事獨立於媒介的主命題、視敘事依賴於媒介的反命題、和視敘事與媒介關係有程度之別的綜合命題。進入數位時代後，由於跨媒介與多媒材等數位媒介的特性使然，視敘事與媒介的關係為一光譜分佈量的綜合命題，更有助於我們探討媒介特性與故事之間的符號互動。另一方面，這也指出敘事不只是文本結構或言說行動，敘事其實是由詮釋者在接觸文本之後所喚起的心像，乃是一種認知的建構，而這幫我們拓展了對那些非語言、文字所傳遞的故事，以及尚未具體成形為文本的敘事經驗之研究。在對敘事與媒介關係作一文獻回顧之後，本文更具體地指出數位時代中說故事的技藝將立基於熟悉該媒介在意義表達上的特性，如何善用該媒介所提供的表意資源、並避開其所造成的限制，這中間將有更多媒介選擇與組合的可能性。另一方面，這些新媒介所開創的表意潛能，也會回過頭來挑戰舊媒介時代下已成形的敘事模式或經驗。因此，針對該媒介特性設計故事已成為數位時代中重要的能力。
