    Abstract: 本書為三年翻譯計畫的成果，主要選入日方研究者或以日語書寫的相關論文。除了收入日本臺灣文學領域長久耕耘的學者的研究成果，還將觸角伸及日本人文學科擴及臺灣的跨領域研究。最主要有日本近代文學、文化、美術研究等方面的研究論文，還包括比較文學、文化視點、日本帝國時期的殖民地論述，以及返照帝國核心的帝國邊緣殖民地群研究論文，希望兼顧最新的研究動向、多樣化的研究成果。每篇論文皆邀請相關領域研究者撰寫導讀。中冊共收錄十一篇論文，作者為下村作次郎、大谷渡、吳叡人、坪井秀人、秋吉收、垂水千恵、星名宏修、楠井清文、橋本恭子。討論的主題，有：不同背景與立場的楊逵與佐藤春夫，針對同一霧社事件的文學作品，呈現出何等不一樣的「描寫視點」；《莎勇之鐘》在殖民政府皇民化時期，如何以多元的文學形式成為由上而下的大眾教育工具；一九三○年代的臺灣與日本文學中，café這個都市文化空間展現出什麼樣的現代性……。本書選譯的論文，篇篇分析精闢，是探究日治臺灣文史殿堂的最佳讀本。
