Abstract:	根據內政部目前的規劃,以及國民黨與民進黨立法院黨團朝野協商的結果,立法院預定於本(八十三)年四月底前,完成「省縣自治法」的立法進度,屆時台灣地區的地方自治史上,將出現第一次的省長選舉,而且也是台灣地區歷史上首次的大規模選舉競爭。本研究即擬利用此一機會,結合不同學科領域中具有相關專長的研究者,於選舉之後以面對面訪問的方式,蒐集選舉資訊及選民背景、態度、行為的資料,據以瞭解台灣省長選舉的選民投票行為,並進一步建構台灣地區選民投票行為的理論模式。本研究以台灣省全體選民為母體,將在台灣省長選舉結束之後,選取一千六百個樣本進行面對面的調查訪問;透過跨學科的科際整合研究方法,針對影響選民投票行為的相關變項,如選民的經社背景、政黨偏好、政見取向與候選人評價等,進行系統性的資料蒐集、整理與分析,期以瞭解台灣省選民投票行為的特性,並有效解釋台灣地區選民的投票行為。
