    Abstract: 「紅樓夢」為近代文學的一大鉅著,堪稱古典小說的代表作品,然作者是誰,始終是未解的謎,在大家的印象中,紅樓夢是由清朝曹雪芹所作,並由高鶚編纂,但專家對於本書之前八十回與四十回是否為同一位作者,仍時有爭論。近數十年來紅學專家們試圖以各種研究方法尋求解答,至今尚未有令人滿意的定論。 本研究藉由統計方法(包括變動點分析) ,將「紅樓夢」中的文字敘述予以數量化,來分析作者的寫作風格,以科學的角度尋求此一公案解答的可能性。本書所採用之紅樓夢版本,以「庚辰本」及「程甲本」為主要研究書目;而以「紅樓夢校註」為輔。分析則以Minitab、SPlus等軟體為輔助工具。
    The Dream of Red Chamber" is a great work of classical Chinese novel, which has been very popular since Ming and Ching Dynasties. However, the author of this book still remains unknown. Although most people believe that the author is Sher-Chin Tsao, an artist born in Ching Dynasty, but experts in this field cannot decide whether the first 80 chapters and the last 40 chapters belonging to the same author. Many research methods have been proposed, but none is accepted as the concrete evidence of solving this two-hundred-year-old riddle. In this report, we attempt to solve this riddle from the statistical point of view, by quantifying the author's writing style into numerical values. Many statistical methods (including Change point approach) are used to analyze the quantified data. The version of "The Dream of Red Chamber" used in this study are mainly "Geng-Chern Version" and "Cherng-Jea Version". The statistical softwares used are Minitab and SPlus.
