    Abstract: 本研究以衛生署民國八十三年「台灣地區公私立醫療院所現況與服務量調查」資料之「地區性」醫院為樣本,結合資料包絡分析與迴歸分析模式,探討我國地區醫院經營效率之影響因素。本研究先就樣本醫院之投入及產出數據,應用資料包絡分析估計各醫院之經營效率值,再以此效率值為因變數,運用迴歸分析模式確認和評估影響醫院經營效率之相關因素。實證研究結果顯示,代表醫院所有權型態、病情嚴重程度、服務科別數,以及市場競爭性等變數,對醫院經營效率具有負面之影響,而代表病床佔床率之變數,對醫院經營效率則具有正面之效用。
    Using sample data from the 1994 survey of hospitals compiled by the Department of Health, this study combines Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with regression analysis to analyze factors affecting the efficiency performance of Taiwanese district hospitals. In particular, this study employs DEA with the choice of inputs and outputs being specific to sample hospitals to estimate efficiency scores, and then specifies a multiple regression model to identify and evaluate factors associated with these efficiency scores. The results indicate that hospital ownership, scope of services, degree of severity and market competition intensity have negative impacts on hospital efficiency performance, while occupancy rates have a positive impact on hospital efficiency performance.
